QA handover
Also called: handover pack, knowledge transfer
A QA handover passes on what a tester knows and maintains, so the practice keeps working after they leave the team.
Handover is what remains when a tester or consultant moves on. The contents are practical: the strategy, severity rules with the team’s own examples, the readiness note template and recent notes, the smoke checks and how to run them, the integration map, test accounts and data, and a register of open risks.
A folder is not a handover. Each artefact needs a named person inside the team who will use it, and the transfer works best on real work: the team writes the next readiness note and the outgoing tester reviews it.
I plan for handover from the first weeks of an engagement. At the end of my most recent mobile project I handed the client its QA repository for independent reuse.
